A Good WatchJul 22, 2007 I am a swimmer, and I wanted a watch that would give accurate water temperatures as well as tell me the time and date. This watch does all of that. I tested it against a calibrated lab thermometer and it was right on. It gives accurate water temp readings within a few minutes. Air temp readings are another mater, you have to take it off your wrist, put it in the shade, and wait 5 to 10 minutes for a accurate reading, but then it is right on. The tide function is worthless. I've been to lots of coastal locations all over the world, and I've never seen anyplace where the tides conform to a set time interval, which is the the way the tide function works on this watch, but anyone who needs to know about tides already knows that. All in all I am very happy with the watch.

Tide Function not for Gulf CoastJun 18, 2007 My wife bought this for me for Father's Day. I intended to use it while fishing along the Texas coat. I tried to sync the tides, but I never could get it to come out right. I finally checked the manual, and it says that the tides are 6 hours, 12.5 minutes apart. Not here! Maybe the ocean tides, but not the Galveston tides. We are going to return it, I am very disappointed. I am sure the other features of the watch are great like any other Timex, but I wanted it for the tide function.

Decent watch for the priceMar 09, 2007 I purchased this watch mainly just to keep time and to count the seconds off as I perform my job as a firefighter/emt. I also happen to enjoy fishing, so I figured the tide function would also be a plus. I set the tide, time, and date when I received my watch and they have stayed pretty consistent since. The one thing I don't like is the temp sensor. In order to use it, you have to take the watch off and wait for up to 30 minutes to even get a close reading, but the manual tells you this. All in all, I am pretty satisfied with my watch. I've never had a problem with any timex I own or have owned. Perhaps I've been fortunate, but then again, maybe not. I would recommend this watch to others.
