Band needs alot of help!Jul 12, 2010 Owned for less than two years and band now cracking. It has been a great watch with the indigo function as my favorite aspect of the watch!
quite a deal!!!Jul 09, 2010 Well this is a very very nice watch for the price, I admit I bought it as a nostalgia item having gotten my first Ironman watch at 10-11 years old. (it made such an impression at school and my friends were so annoying with wanting to see it and the cool features that I took it off and hid it in my lunch bag, which I then promptly threw away when lunch was over)
Never got over that loss, and I have to admit this watch has all the Ironman coolness you'd expect.
Very rugged and quality, people comment on it and can't believe the price I paid for this item.
I would not call it dressy because of the obvious rubber band and sometimes the digital dial is hidden/blocked by the analog needles. The black background is also not the easiest to read, but the band has many holes and has a slightly oversized buckle that is a joy to tie, always easy to find a comfortable fit.
Broke after 2 weeks, but decent watchApr 24, 2010 Nice looking and decent watch. However, mine broke after two weeks of using it. One day at the pool, the digital function just froze on the chronograph function. Also the dark background is sometimes hard to read - especially in the pool while doing laps.
I can see the plastic band breaking in a bout a year, but it is much more sanitary than the cloth strapped ones.
Tried and trueApr 16, 2010 I am a Lieutenant Paramedic/RN for Fire Rescue and have been working the job for 12 years. This is the perfect everyday or "throwdown" watch. It has all the features possibly needed, such as military time and date for charting in logbooks or notes. Yet it retains the standard 6 o'clock analog placement for days when you have a tough time remembering that dinner is at 1800hrs. The indiglo is a must and can be used as a dim flashlight for finding your way through a dark house at night (after your eyes adjust) or checking on your kids in a crib. I appreciate the overall durability. With extremely harsh use (enough to get multiple lectures from my wife) I get about 1-2 yrs out them. This is my 3rd. 2x a wrist band has failed, the last one failed at the time setting knob. After it broke off it still worked but on daylight savings time. It finally broke a few weeks after when water came in where the knob fell off. I have an older version of this watch from 6+ years go. It still works but both wrist straps have fallen off. I use it as a timer to cook things on my grill. If you are a Firefighter / Police Officer / Registered Nurse, I would highly recommend this watch.
would not purchase againFeb 05, 2010 never had trouble with timex, til now. digital read out is hard to read with hands and label located at 9 on the face of the watch. then 6 months into owning the screen has gone blank.
