 Timex Ironman WatchJan 30, 2010
I was pleased to find this watch on Amazon for a great price. I really liked the design of the watch. Unfortunately, I cant give the watch a good review. I have bought Timex watches ever since I've wanted a watch. I am a runner and have always used timex. Overall, I love the watches and was excited to buy this one for more casual use. The battery died after a year and the cool, brushed aluminum/metal surround started and eventually fell off. Also, part of the strap broke, leaving the excess sticking out rather than hugging tight to the band. would not recommend this product. Maybe it was just a fluke? not sure, I will still buy other timex watches, but I thought maybe the "Ironman" name would mean better durability.

If you want a watch that works for a shorter duration than it takes for the battery to expire, then this one's for you. After less than two years of service the analog hands stopped working. Thinking it just needed a new battery, I put in a new replacement. Alas, the hands wouldn't move. Rather expensive when you factor in the short life. Needless to say, I would recommend avoiding this dud.

I liked the look of the product from the web pictures. Did receive the watch but ended up sending it back when I noticed that the band could not be replaced. I was buying this watch to replace another Timex watch I currently own which I can no longer find a band for. I didn't want to end up with another useless watch without a band. This is the first Timex watch that I've seen that does not allow for a simple band replacement. I hope that this is not a pattern in the design of future Timex watches since I am a big fan of the brand.

I have another IronMan watch, but with a dark face and light numbers. The digital part of this design is easier to read, but the point of having an analog component is being able to use it. The hands which blend into the background is simply a stupid oversight by Timex. Easily fixed, they should know the hands should contrast with the background and not blend in. Idiots!
The rest of the design is good, though. Plastic band is comfortable for many sizes. Large watchface is easy to view, and programming is pretty intuitive. However, wait until the super-geniuses at Timex fix the color of the hands problem.
