Functions take some time to fully understandSep 29, 2008 For some reason I feel like there are functions that I am not using because I am not quite sure if I have figured it out fully. I have been using the watch as how I can for now. Timing my run and timing my walk time. But it only gives you two intervals and doesn't loop them (as far as I can tell). So once you finish your run interval then the walk interval then the intervals stop. You don't want to be keying in and resetting it when you are supposed to be running again. So that is a pain in the butt.
The swim functions are just ok. For proper swim workouts it doesn't match up to the second timer clock. If you were just swimming endurance for 1500 and wanted to count your laps.. then ok. But if you are doing different strokes on a pace it isn't that useful. I have started to let the timer just keep running and I do the math calculations in my head for the pace times... I don't know.. I guess I was expecting more.
Now that I have purchased it I think I should have spent more on a watch that calculates my heart rate too.
Now I know what I don't want next time I can focus on what I want.

great watchNov 24, 2006 I am a non runner and I love this watch. Its easy to see and read no matter where you are. I have one in each size, the mid and the larger one. I do have to say after wearing it for almost 2 yrs. I do not think i can go back to a regular watch worn on top of my arm. Its almost like this is the way a watch is meant to be worn.

Timex OVA - great running watchDec 02, 2005 I recently bought a Timex OVA (optimal viewing angle) watch. I bought it as a replacement for my old Nike Triax watch, which inexplicably stop functioning correctly. After comparing several different watches, including the new Nike Triax watch, I was impressed at the lightweight of the OVA; I can't even tell when it's on my wrist. Also the OVA comes in large- and mid-size versions, which is very important for many runners like myself that have thin wrists. The viewing angle makes looking at your watch slightly easier while running versus the conventional angle. Furthermore, the placement of the buttons is the best on any watch I have ever owned or tried; the start/lap button is literally fool proof and very easy to find without having to look down! The indiglo night feature works the same as many new sport watches, by lighting the numbers rather than the screen, which works very well at night. The memory feature gives lap times, total time, best time, average lap time and also the date at which the time was recorded, which makes recording training information very easy. Finally this watch not only performs fantastic... but it looks awesome with a ton of different color options.
